The credit union was chartered in 1975. It was originally known as Lumber & Sawmill Workers Local 2767 Federal Credit Union and membership was limited to members of the local union and their families.
In 1997 the Credit Union changed to "community charter" credit union and the membership is now open to anyone living, working, worshipping, or attending school in our "community" area, which is the Third County Commissioner district of Lewis County. The credit union offices are located at the corner of First and Main in Morton, across the street from the new home of the historic railroad depot. We offer savings and checking accounts, certificates of deposit, debit cards, loans of various types and starting with this holiday season will have Visa gift cards available. The staff consists of Treasurer/Manager Bill Little, who lives in Randle; Office Manager Diane Ruzicka, from Glenoma and Teller Christy Collette, who also lives in Glenoma Timber Country is the only credit union in East Lewis County, and for thirty years has been committed to the credit union philosophy of "People helping People".
